WE HOPE YOU ENJOY ITS CONTENTS, ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE LEFT THIS AREA AND WISH TO KEEP IN TOUCH WITH G.A.A. AFFAIRS AT HOME. FEEL FREE TO FORWARD YOUR VIEWS OR SUGGESTIONS TO palchief@eircom.net Our Club name, Cnoc Arda/ Palatine creates problems in both languages! Grammatically, Cnoc Ard would be correct, but tradition has handed down Cnoc Arda. The village known as Palatine does not exist officially as it is really an amalgamation of two sections, Knockarda and Killeshane. But again, tradition has given us Palatine, which is shortened to Pal. - for example, "come on Pal!" Finally, if you set out to come to Palatine Club, you will have to come to Bennekerry, about three miles from Palatine village! WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO OUR SECOND CENTURY AND WE HOPE TO CONTINUE THE GREAT WORK OF THOSE WHO HAVE GONE BEFORE US SINCE THE G.A.A. WAS FOUNDED IN 1884. WE WILL KEEP YOU INFORMED OF OUR EFFORTS AS THE YEARS' ACTIVITIES TAKE PLACE. 18th January 2011: welcome to our new website. |
